Missions Conference in LA 2006

I was the guest speaker for the Missions Conference in Los Angeles last week end... Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It was held at Pastor Bermoy's church, Bible Christian Fellowship. What a real privelege it was to stand in his pulpit. Tiffany Sutterfield who feels a call on her life to missionary work came with me. She was a tremendous blessing and example to the youth who were inspired by her words and actions. She spoke on the spot at the Sunday youth service. Everyone fell in love with her of course. She is going with us to the Philipines in November... Praise God!

This church is placed between two historic churches. The old Azuza street church on Bonnie Brae st. and the Dream Center. Representing an old vision that came to pass and a young man's heart that had a dream and now is seeing it fulfilled. What a place of opportunity... and yet with these two great outreaches and Bible Christian Fellowship right in the middle still souls are lost... and the work of missions must be carried out... While a welcome sign outside is nice... the sign of true importance is on the inside of the door leading to the outside... Reading "You are now entering the Missionary Field!"

Too Cool...

Ok! Here it is!! We saw this totally cool Gold Wing 1800 with EVERYTHING... Did we lust or want to steel it.... well whatta ya think... Of course we did... But... we got over it and realized someday perhaps this is the bike for us...
Notice the ponytail on the back of the ladies helmet.... so cool!

Father's Day 2006

Well, Leep says he never thought "Father's Day" could get any better... But with all these wonderful grandchildren he is honored by his kids and the grandkids... Truly honored is the word! We were taken to dinner after church to Cheesecake Factory in Victoria Gardens... It was a wonderful day! We missed our Texas family but was thankful for our Redding family to be back home here in Southern California... Went to the movies and saw a cutie... "Over the Hedge"

Precious Little Ones

Hannah and Lauren were at the house playing... They took their shoes off and placed them side by side in my day room... Sooooo precious these little girls... I had to share...

At the beach with the girls, the kiddos and... My Randy

Went to the beach and joined in with mom and aunt Lyn who were in the hotel... and Cheryl and Christy for their annual "get outta school beach vacation"... I had to get travel shots and eye exams so we took the bike and it was simply gorgeous... Oh also... the report on my eyes is NO GLAUCOMA!!! That's my Jesus!

Anna and Aidan spend the night

After the Luau Aidan and Anna came and spent the night... Since I leave for Africa and Korea on Saturday I wanted to get this over nighter with my neice and nephew on the calendar for
SURE... We had a great evening... as you can see in our pictures.... Uncle Randy fixed late night pancakes... We played slap jack with the new deck of cards in the goody bag I gave each of them... Aidan poses with his sunglasses from the goody bag... He is so happy for them because they are going to the beach this week with mommy and grammy.... Anna danced for us and Aidan sang... Anna used cursive on the chalk board and Aidan did a great picture... Oh what fun we had... making memories! Come back again kiddo's....

Church Luau Sunday Night

Sunday evening we had a beautiful church luau at Bob and Kim's... It officially began "Island Days" at the church. No suits and ties through-out the summer only Hawaiian shirts or dresses, etc. Cool is the main principle... Always using the 3 M's...
The pretty setting was around the pool with Tiki lights burning bright and the twinkle lights shining... The food was set up in the indoor/outdoor Cabana. It was Island Potluck and there was an overflow of food... hahaha... the pineapple upside down cake was the dessert of the evening along with Mama's famous banana pudding... Ummmmm Good....

Lisa tried to teach the men the hula but two of the guys were sent to the pool by some pranksters... their teenage sons.... hahaha... Here you can only see the feet of Dave Casarez taking the plunge... Pastor was right on with that shot...

We had the hula hoop contest which was so funny and of course Maggie won the pineapple for going the longest as it is her hula hoop and her morning exercise each day... The look on the others faces when she was last and went on and on.... Surprise, Guys!

All and all it was a very successful and good time of fellowship.... both in and out of the pool...
Another memory of joy... I love it!

(who is the national coach of the year for high schools) came to visit... and where did we go... YES... you guest it... DISNEYLAND.... We had a wonderful visit... and of course they came to church on Sunday and dinner with the fam... It was another making of more memories... Life and friends... How Grand it all is!

Got back to see April and the fam...

It was so cool to get home in time to see the family was still here... Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Paul were meeting them all for breakfast at IHOP in Perris.... So Randy and I crashed the party.... Yep! It was great!

Uncle Steve and grandpa Mike took the gang to Disneyland on Saturday and Sunday.... They stayed at the Californian and had a blast... Uncle Steve's family came and joined in the fun... Debbie, Travis and Andrea and Tori and Alec and of course.... Little Jack!

I have no pictures to show of their trip but the next day on Monday grandma Anderson took them all to the beach... With Auntie Lyn, and uncle Randy and myself... Mercedes and Steve joined us there and naturally Steve gave scooter rides... We had a ball... An all day affair of course with dinner at Red Lobster and dessert at Carrows... 99 cent Sundaes... hahaha... so many nice memories were made that day...

What? A trip to Virginia... Ok let's go!

Yes, I had to go to Virginia for TWM to debrief our missionary to Africa, Rev. Richard and Anita Chapel. Dr. Debra McCormick went with me as she is interested in the missionary schools with TWM. She is going to Africa at the end of June and check out the situation as well as minister... So we had many meetings but our feet were on historic soil so we enjoyed seeing the area...
Just picked Anita up from work... She is a Major in the Air Force and works at the hospital. She is so wonderful... A gracious lady with a heart for missions... not just Africa... While we were there she told me if she can get the go ahead from the general again she will go with me to the Philippines in November.... Yipeeeeeee!

Here is a picture of a lady and her rooster in Jamestown... The first colony in America... Before Plymouth Rock... It was so moving to stand on that very soil... The history was ominous... The rooster... well he was something else... hahaha...

Nothing like rocking on the front porch in a nice rocking chair... Notice the two bags of items.... We ate at a restaurant called "Cracker Barrel" and they sell all kinds of cutesie things... I especially loved the daisy tea pot and the salt water taffy and the sugar babies... The food was yummy, too... Dumplin's and fried catfish... Better than Po' Folks...

This is a statue of Pochahantas and I am giving her a hand shake of good will... This settlement was full of so many unique things to see... Debra and I were both standing around with our mouths open... Truly, moving... Don't know what we will do when we get to Africa... hahaha...

This trip went well and much was accomplished for our trip and the work... I ask you to all pray as we are not travelling together... I am going with the Korean delegation, staying in 5 star hotels and the comfort of large air conditioned autos... Preaching in a church of 30,000 membership... Debra is taking her twin 11 year old daughters and Kiesha and her older auntie... She has paid for the trip herself and will be staying and working in the villages of the PAGA churches... and yet we both need your prayer as the work of the Holy Spirit must be done and it is our hearts to be used and the almighty has accepted our offer... We will catch up with each other in Nairobi, Kenya... Anyway... more reporting on that after the trip.... For now this trip was successful!

Starland, April, Taylor, Caylan, Alivia... Yipeee!

Here they are... Look at Alivia the newest member and the only daughter... She is one of the happiest babies I have ever seen... Very social... April and Starland let her go to all the people in the church and so she is naturally easy to adjust when someone wants to play with her or hold her... She sings and claps her hands and when Great Grandpapa Anderson sings she totally loves it and joins right in... the two sing to each other and it is really great to observe... Caylan and Taylor and their cool looking blonde hair, have grown so much it's almost scary... Taylor is almost as tall as his mom... April teaches English in Prague now so she can be closer to home with her family... Although, Starland works for the fire department he is proud of his farm and works it pretty hard... Now raising sheep that grow hair instead of wool and sells them for the meat... Pretty good side business there.... nothing to say Baa Baa, at... hahaha....

Of course Uncle Randy had the opportunity to show off her balancing abilities when he balanced her on his hand just like he balanced April so many years ago... Auntie Judeee had to leave before the big Memorial Day reunion but

hopefully they will still be here when she returns... Heard over 40 showed for the reunion and mom and dad just sat back and visited and had big smiles on their faces that only the joy of family.... A godly family can bring...

Until the next visit April and Starland and family!! This was great!
