Africa... Changed Forever! The Massai

Where do I begin... After over 30 hours of flying time we arrived in Nairobi, Kenya... We were met at the plane by about 20 people with signs and smiles and the joy of welcome shinning... We were taken to our dwelling which was at the Catholic Guest Housing, ran by the nuns and very nice and clean... I immediately fell in love with the nuns... and eventually had an opportunity to share with them at their choir practice... I shared the wonderful story of the prayer warrior in Guatemala who changed her whole village... She was a nun and this encouraged them all and we began a relationship that shall never die... We had the opportunity to go to the south of Kenya to the native village of the Massai... These are very native people who believe in cultural rituals... Such as still drinking blood from animals and killing lions with only a spear and their bare hands... They met us in full costume and sang songs to us in their native tongues... The children had learn a song in English.... "Welcome to our school"! Of course I was brought to tears... The pastor of the church had markings all over his body... From his head to his toes... I didn't see tatoos... only markings like brandings... and of course his ears were stretched and big holes through them... He immediately fell in love and honor and respect for Randy.... He gave him a mantle (which is like a necklace) that hangs around his neck and shoulder to his waist... It represents that he has killed a lion... Randy told him but he has not done this and the pastors reply was "Oh, yes... You kill the roaring lions that seek to devor from you and your family and your church" YOU ARE A MIGHTY VICTORIOUS WARRIOR! Praise the Lord!! After Randy's miracle healing he received this as a token of the war he just won! They made me the queen of the Massai and crowned me with a beaded crown... They dressed us both in costume and we preached that way... They honored me with a spear of my very own to bring home and place in my office... As I told them they are the first of the Massai to lay their spears down for the weapon of the sword of the Word to carry... I cried as we pulled away but only because I realized what a great miracle it was of salvation for these people. Not even the other Kenyan's want to go near them as they are the most feared natives in the land. My God reached down with his mighty hand and brought them the Word of LIFE... and now they have it more abundantly!! Glory to God in the Highest!

The Puppies are born! Sept. 2007

Richard and Brenda's dog had puppies... They are half Shetsu and half Silkie... This means they are little and cute and house dogs... Perfect for Caleb and Madelyn's first doggie... So we got one for our grandkids... They can't have her until November but since they don't know they won't be anxious... Tim and Tamra are not so easy... hahaha... They are getting very anxious ... and the puppies are so very cute... Yipeee!

July/August St Lucia Missionary Trip 2007

Randy had pneumonia and was not able to go to Saint Lucia/Tobago. Shaye joined the "Team USA" along with Tiffany and Richard and Brenda and Brenda's daughter Lorie... It was so awesome... The first four days it was just Shaye and I and we really had some special time of sharing, caring and playing and praying... Then Tiff joined us and she is always full of charm and surprizes... She and Shaye really hit it off very well... Then came the Douglas's and it was perfect...
We began on Sunday at the main pastor's church and then went on to the tent crusade... Around 1000 people and lots and lots of rain... We had been to the streets before the crusade and invited people... Especially the sail boat expedition where we met Thomas and Carol and brought them back to church and literally had church on the boat... Praise the Lord! We wrote a song in creole the language of the island:
We Masia, Jesuea Quee,
We Masia, Jesuea Quee,
Jesuea Quee Sofay Lataya
Jesuea Quee Sofay Lataya
Jesuea Quee Sofay Lataya
We masia, Jesuea Quee

They all loved it and appreciated the fact we attempted their language... It was a plus!

We then moved on to Tobago where we were in tent meetings with Ramdial's... It was so cool... The big tent is for their actual Sunday local church... The little tent is for the every night revival meetings through-out Tobago... The week we were there it was placed smack dabb in the middle of the neighborhoods... Houses all around... Something we could not do in our free America... People came out and set on their porches and listenned... I think the most exciting night was the junior crusade night when Tiff and Shaye ministered in song and games and the word and the altars were full... Really special....
Seeing the new house that the Ramdials are building on land that God gave them on the top of a mountain overlooking all of the island... A beautiful spot... The first time when Randy and I went they lived in a house the size of my living room and had to check each morning for snakes and spiders hidden in warm dark spots... God has made them the head and not the tail and yet they have not seized the sacrafices because God just keeps on giving and giving to them and they do the same... You can't out give the Lord no matter how you try!!! Well, finally the day came and we all got to go home and believe me we were all ready for a great big USA hamburger.... A great time with many blessings... I loved all who went on this journey and all the work that was done in the name of the Lord, Jesus Christ!

God Heals My Randy!! July 2007

It's true... It's a healing... It's a big change... It's my Jesus... God is so good! Randy suffered eighteen years with heart disease... He had 6 surgeries for arteries... One open heart surgery with four by-passes... He died on the operating table and God brought him back... Today, God has completely healed him... In July after he returned home from the hospital from a fight with pneumonia God woke him up in the night and the healing took place... His doctor stands amazed and we stand knowing who the healer is... For more information you must read his book after it is written... The Holy Ghost and Randy are in the writting process right now... Just know this we serve a mighty God... He does miracles!

A Visit from Ghana, Africa Welcome Tettevi's

Rev. Kwashie and Angelina Tettevi are pastors in Ghana, Africa.
It was so awesome to have them in our home in June. They toured and had many services in the PAGA churches while they were here. Reverends Anita and Richard Chapel were their hosts. What a great time we all had. Even Steve gave them a fast ride in his new BMW and they were all white headed when they got out... Hahaha! We are excited over our visit to Ghana next year. Pastor Tettevi is the Vice President of PAGA Ghana and is working great with Pastor Barnor... What a wonderful time we will all have!

April is "Ladies Retreat" Month 2007

Ok... Yes it was spiritual... and yes it was fun... and yes it was eventful... This year was Debbie's first year as the "LOG" leader and I was the speaker... and both of my daughters and granddaughter Maureen were there and my mother and aunt Lyn and my sister and her daughters and Lady Esther from Trinidad was my roommate... I was "Teepeed" and had several strange things left in my room all of the pranks at the end I discovered were from my Shaye, Maureen and Tamra, too.... Naturally we will never forget our special visit from our very own little baby seal who wound up on Grandma Lolly and Auntie Lyn's patio... She gave us quite a night of adventure... It was delightful and a wonderful time I shall never forget at Oceanside Harbor.... Thank you Lord for times like these!
